The Fish Culture Experimental Station Golysz was established in 1953 as a field
base of the Institute of Water Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow.
Now the Station runs rational farming by adapting fish production to the
current demand of the market, the productions technology and the environment.
It is an outstanding producer of table fish and stocking material of the carp
and other fish species. The Station consists of three farms on a total area of
1070 ha, in this number 862 ha of ponds.
